The top earners on YouTube have been revealed. Jimmy Donaldson, popularly known as “Mr. Beast,” is at the top of Forbes’ annual list of YouTube’s highest-paid creators, having made an estimated $54 million from his videos over the course of the year. Donatella takes over as the top earner from Ryan Kaji, the now 10-year-old YouTube toy unpacking sensation who had led the Forbes top earner list for the previous three years.

According to Forbes, the total income of top YouTubers increased significantly in 2021:

“Together, YouTubers earned approximately $300 million in 2021, a new high, up 40% from the previous year, largely due to increased views on their YouTube channels and the ad money they get from those videos. Ad income accounts for around half of company earnings. All of these celebrities have their own branded merchandise lines, which helps them supplement their income. And they dabble in a variety of other revenue streams, including Twitch, Snap, Facebook, podcasts, NFTs, and even hamburgers.”
